Vaqeelsaab is a litigation firm based in Panchkula, serving clients mainly across Chandigarh, Mohali, Zirakpur and Yamuna Nagar.
The name is deliberate. Vaqeel saab is what a lawyer is called across north India — with familiarity, and with respect. It carries no pretence, which suits how we work.
The firm was founded by Rahul Singla, an advocate enrolled with the Bar Council in 2006, practising before the Punjab & Haryana High Court and various district courts across Punjab and Haryana. We work in criminal, civil, corporate, family and property law, and provide legal process outsourcing to legal firms abroad.
A substantial share of our work is for non-resident Indians in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and the Gulf, with legal matters in Punjab and Haryana. Property disputes and title verification. Property valuation. Partition suits over ancestral land. Defending false 498A and dowry cases. Cross-border divorce and recognition of foreign decrees. Succession certificates, legal heir certificates and powers of attorney.
Most of this can be handled without travelling to India. A properly drafted and apostilled Power of Attorney lets us appear, file and follow up on your behalf. Where your personal presence is genuinely required, we tell you at the outset rather than later.
We also act in criminal defence, civil suits, matrimonial litigation, corporate and commercial matters, consumer complaints, and service law.
Legal problems arrive at bad times, and usually with more anxiety attached than the file suggests. We try to reduce that where we can: a clear view of what the law provides, an honest assessment of what it is likely to deliver, and a realistic timeline rather than an encouraging one.
We tell clients when a matter is weak. We tell them when settlement serves them better than litigation. In a profession where fees follow proceedings, that is worth stating plainly.
